R. Scott Moore

Welcome to my pages. I am a Professor and Chair of the Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I teach ancient history and explore how artificial intelligence is changing the way we research and teach the past.

My research focuses on trade and commerce in Late Antiquity, with a particular interest in the Eastern Mediterranean. Much of that work is grounded in the identification and analysis of Roman and Late Roman ceramics. I currently co-direct an archaeology project in Cyprus at ancient Arsinoe (modern Polis) and participate in others in Cyprus, as well as at Isthmia in Greece.
